The wait is almost over! The makers of Rajinikanth’s upcoming film Coolie have dropped a brand-new promo and started the official 100-day countdown. The action drama is directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj and promises to be full of powerful scenes and exciting moments.
Promo Released by Sun Pictures
The production house Sun Pictures shared the latest promo on their official X (formerly Twitter) page. The clip gives fans a quick look at Rajinikanth’s powerful role. The post read:
“Arangam Adhirattume, Whistle Parakkattume! #CoolieIn100Days #Coolie worldwide from August 14th.”
This clearly shows that the movie will hit theatres on August 14th—just 100 days away!
Star-Studded Cast
Coolie features a strong lineup of stars:
- Rajinikanth in the lead role
- Nagarjuna Akkineni and Upendra Rao in key roles
- Shruti Haasan, Soubin Shahir, and Sathyaraj also play important characters
- Pooja Hegde will make a special appearance with a dance number

No Clash with War 2
At first, there were talks that Coolie might release on the same day as Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR’s War 2, creating a big box office clash. But the latest news suggests that Coolie will avoid the competition and pick a separate release date to ensure a smooth run in cinemas.
Jailer 2 Also in the Works
While fans are excited about Coolie, Rajinikanth is also working on Jailer 2, directed by Nelson Dilipkumar. This is the sequel to the hit film Jailer, where Rajinikanth plays the fierce and much-loved character “Tiger” Muthuvel Pandian. Both films are expected to do extremely well.
Coolie Sets OTT Record
According to a report by Koimoi, the streaming rights for Coolie have already been sold to Amazon Prime Video for around Rs 120 crore. Though an official confirmation is still pending, this is believed to be one of the biggest digital deals ever.
For comparison, Rajinikanth’s previous hit Jailer was also sold to Prime Video for Rs 100 crore.
